All Languages Language Exchange + UCSB Reads

Students, staff, and faculty are welcome to join the Office of International Students & Scholars’ All Languages Language Exchange, held in collaboration with UCSB Reads as part of this year’s selection, Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. Meet fellow linguaphiles and practice your language(s) of choice at this bi-monthly cultural exchange event that celebrates language, culture, and community.

For this special UCSB Reads–themed exchange, participants are invited, though not required, to engage in cross-cultural conversation inspired by Crying in H Mart, including themes of identity, family, grief, food, language, and belonging, with provided prompts. Copies of Crying in H Mart will be made available to participants in advance. Light snacks from around the world and beverages will be provided.

All languages and all levels are welcome.
