Introduction to Scholarly Publishing

This workshop is designed to teach you about the different avenues for publishing your scholarship, from journal articles, to pre-prints, and more. Additionally, the workshop will highlight resources and considerations as you start your publishing journey.

By the end of this workshop, you will:
-Gain a better understanding of scholarly publishing
-Set publishing goals
-Distinguish the types of publishing models (traditional, open access, public, etc.)
-Identify where to find key publications in your field
-Understand your rights and responsibilities as an author
-Navigate publisher contracts
-Locate publishing resources available to you through the UCSB Library

This workshop is open to all, but is of particular relevance to graduate students and faculty.
