UCSB Reads invites you to join Shopping List Scores, an art workshop led by artist and educator Lucy Bell Thursday, April 23, 12:00 PM. This event is in conversation with the UCSB Reads book Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner.

Following the work of performance artists like Yoko Ono and modern dancers like Simone Forti and Anna Halprin, artist Lucy Bell will guide participants through score-writing to create their own Shopping List Score or Memory Score. Using print, text, and drawing, participants will think about the ritual of shopping, eating and the cultural and familial memories that can be reenacted in a score. Participants will walk away with a printed or hand-made paper piece recounting their own memories with food, shopping, and their identity.
